Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy explains what information Got Sandbags ("we", "us") collects when you use gotsandbags.com, how we use it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Delivery details: the address you enter to price a delivery, and at checkout your name, email address, phone number(s), optional company name, billing address and delivery instructions.
- Order details: the quantity you order, the price, and the delivery date and window you choose.
- Payment information: card and wallet payments are handled by Square. Your card number goes directly from your browser to Square; we never see or store it.
- Site usage: pages you visit, how you reached the site, your device and browser type, approximate (city-level) location, and the steps of an order you complete — measured with Google Analytics. See Analytics below.
- Approximate location: to suggest a starting price, we may use the city-level location our content delivery network derives from your IP address. If you tap "use my location", your browser asks your permission before sharing a precise location, which we use only to fill in your address.
How we use it
- To price, process, deliver and support your order.
- To contact you about your order and delivery.
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to fulfill your order and run the site:
- Our fulfillment partners: orders are processed through the Soil Direct delivery platform and delivered by our local supply partner, who receive the details needed to deliver your order. Order confirmations may come from Soil Direct.
- Square, to process payments.
- Google, whose Maps services power address search and geocoding, and whose Analytics service measures site usage on our behalf.
- Hosting providers such as Amazon Web Services.
- When required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We store your delivery address, chosen quantity and a random session identifier in your browser so your price and order survive page loads. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga) to tell visits apart. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — for example, which pages they read and where in the ordering process they stop. It receives the pages you visit, referral source, device and browser details, approximate location, and order events (quantity and order value). It does not receive your name, email address, phone number or delivery address, and Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.
Analytics is configured for measurement only: Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, so this data is not used to build advertising profiles or target ads. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics is switched off automatically. You can also turn it off here:
Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on every site.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you will not be discriminated against for doing so. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email support@gotsandbags.com.
Data retention and security
We keep order records as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information.
Children
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
